darrellDarrell Carroll –  Darrell served as a Deacon before starting his service as an Elder in March of 2018








RobertHigbee3Robert Higbee – Robert was born in Muskogee, OK; he was blessed to be born into a Christian family.  Because his dad was in the military, his family lived in many different locations throughout his childhood.  He was baptized at the age of  14. Robert and Leslie met in the 2-3 year old class at the Shreveport church and again 17 years later at Harding. They married while students at Harding University.  Robert earned a BS in Chemistry from Harding and an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati.  As a result of his career, they have lived in five states and have been active members of the local congregation wherever they lived at the time. They have been involved in teaching classes, directing the bus ministry and serving as foster parents. They are proud parents of two children, Bob (deacon) and Laura, and grandparents of six (three grandsons and three granddaughters).  Robert started serving as an Elder in 2014.



Elliotte Lawing – Elliote was Born in Concord, NC.  Elliotte and his wife, Elaine became a member of the Lord’s church in 1975 in Pannama (Central America) while he was serving in the Army.  While in the Army, Elliotte managed a large group of cooks.  They have two sons, Chris and Elliotte; that have both obeyed the gospel call.  They started attending the Kannapolis congregation sometime around 1993.  They have also worked at Carolina Bible Camp in the past.  Elliotte started serving as an Elder in 2014.




IMG_0585Lance Lemasters – Lance was born in Concord, NC. A third generation member of the church of Christ, the Kannapolis church has been family since before he was born.

Lance’s family spends a week at Carolina Bible Camp each summer. It is a week of being immersed in God’s word, encouraging the future of the church.  The family comes away more bonded together, encouraged by fellow Christians. Lance also teachers the Sunday morning teenage class.

Lance married his wife, Tiea, on December 31, 1999 at the Kannapolis congregation.  They have two beautiful daughters, Victoria and Sophia.

His family is involved in many activities, including the youth, bible school, blood drives, and the Annual Chili Cook off.

mikeMike Mobley – Mike, along with his wife, Angela, have been attending the Kannapolis congregation since 1995. Mike has been serving as elder since 1999. He also directly oversees the education program for the Kannapolis church. Mike has been in public education for 20 years and currently serves as an elementary school assistant principal. He was a fulltime minister for 15 years for a congregation in West Virginia and North Carolina. He continues to teach in the Bible school program for the church and preach when given an opportunity. When needed, he also writes for the Daybreak Magazine. In 1955, Mike was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he graduated high school. He attended the Sunset School of Preaching and has a Masters degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He and Angela have one daughter, Christy, who is married to Nathan Burton. Their daughter, Kaitlyn, was born in 2009. Angela and Christy are both public school high school teachers and Nathan works the North Carolina Department of Social Services.

IMG_0580Bret Simoneaux – Born in Pensacola FL, Bret is the son of a Marine and lived in many different locations depending on where his father was stationed.  He and his wife Cheryl both graduated from Auburn University with degrees in Engineering.  Their daughter, Christie, is a music teacher in the public school system while their son, Kevin, is a Landscape Architecture in Charlotte, NC.  The family became members of the congregation in 1992.  Bret and Cheryl have been active as teachers and organizing many different activities for the congregation over the years.
