Deacons


Ron Bean – Ron was born and raised in Rowan County, NC. He served in the US Army from 1968 – 1970. During that time, he spent one year in Vietnam.  He was promoted to sergeant and served as a squad leader in the 101st Air Airborne Division. Ron received an Associate’s Degree in Marketing and Retailing and Business Administration from RCCC. He is married to Beth Bean, and they have two sons, Rob (wife Kara) and Ryan (wife Lori). Ron and Beth have six grandchildren ages 18 to 37, and 3 great-grandchildren. Ron, Beth and their oldest son, Rob, have a real estate/property management business, Bean Realty Group LLC, in Concord. Ron was baptized into the Lord’s church on December 30, 1975, and has been a servant in the Lord’s church ever since. Ron and Beth joined the Kannapolis church of Christ in 2024.

Ron has served as a Deacon since November of 2025

Darrell Carroll – Darrell has been involved with the congregation many years.  He and his wife, Betsy both teach bible classes and are active in the church.  Darrell will be working closely with our Education.

Darrell has served as a Deacon since July of 2020.

Jeff Deason – Jeff was born in Iredell County NC and has been a Kannapolis resident for over 50 years. He has been employed at LaFave’s Construction out of Landis since 1991. His wife Kim works as the City Clerk for the City of Concord. They have been married since 1991 and have two children, Kristin Long (Brandon) of Manassas, VA. Aaron Deason (Payton) of China Grove, NC, and two grand-daughters (Emma Long & Hattie Deason).

Jeff has served as a Deacon since March of 2018.

Brad Fortson – Brad was born in Little Rock, AR and raised in East Texas.  He attended Harding University on a football scholarship where he excelled as linebacker.  He met his wife, Gretchen at Harding and they were married shortly after graduation in November 2000.  They were members of the church of Christ in Howe, TX until relocating to Concord in 2012.  Brad has worked with Bank of America since 2004 and is the proud father of 4 sons.

Brad has served as a Deacon since March of 2018.

Jeff Hall –

Jeff was born in Ashland KY. Attended Ashland Community College and works at Convergys in Charlotte NC.
He and Annette married in 1982 and have 3 children. Their family has lived in Paintsville KY and Huntington WV. Transferring to Kannapolis NC in 2009 and has been a member of KcoC since, with an extended family of loving brothers and sisters in Christ.
They now have 5 grandsons and 5 granddaughters.

Jeff has served as a Deacon since March of 2018.

Mike Sills – Mike was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Brownsville, TN. He attended Union University on a baseball scholarship as a pitcher before transferring and graduating from the University of Memphis. He met his wife, Julie, in high school and they were married in 1981. They were members of the church in Brownsville, TN. Mike has worked for the past 40 years in the electrical manufacturing industry in Executive Sales Management roles. Mike and Julie have two children, Emily Pang of Davidson, NC and Hunter in Knoxville, TN. They have two grandchildren, Mason Pang & Miles Pang.
